It was a fun day at the West Prince Curling Club on Saturday, December 7,
as six teams of stick curlers and six teams of regular curlers played off for
turkeys and hams as prizes in the First Annual Ham and Turkey Bonspiel
sponsored by Moe’s Your Independent Grocer. At the end of the
afternoon, coming in first place in the stick division were Dale Dennis and
Marvin MacDonald. Second place was Bill Smith and Walter Callaghan,
who were only half a point behind. In the regular curling first place was
taken by the team of Scott Arsenault. Again, the second-place team of Bob
Matheson, David and Gwen Clements and Wendy Fraser were just a rock
or two short of coming in first place.
We welcomed clients and staff from Comfort Care in Bloomfield on Monday
to try stick curling. They had a great time. With our wheelchair lift and
folding ramp to the ice surface, we can welcome all abilities to our club.
This is a great way to expose your clients to new and exciting forms of fun,
entertainment and exercise. Just call Lin at 902-859-2294.
Congratulations to Daryl Adams, the winner of a West Prince Curling Club
jacket in our Facebook like and share our page contest. Be sure and join
our page on Facebook as right now you could win two hours of curling.
The cost is only $10 per entry and as soon as the fifty spots are sold we will
be doing a live draw to find a winner. This contest is for all four sheets of
ice time for two hours. Great way to have a team building exercise, a
family birthday or anniversary celebration etc.
As noted last week, our regular league curling will finish on Thursday,
December 19. That doesn’t mean that you can’t come curling. Our ice is
available for rent during non-league play. Rental charge is only $35 per
hour per sheet. Again, a great way to get together with family and friends
and burn off some of the calories in that fine home cooking you have been
enjoying. Contact Lin at 902-859-2294 or by email to
